Stop Chasing the Perfect Swing.
Find the Natural Swing You Already Have.

The book I wrote: “Forget-About-It” Golf.
Hi. I’m John Furgurson, founder of Eyes on the Prize Golf.
Here’s my promise to you… it’s the same as any surgeon’s oath: Do no harm!
Which means I’m not going to tear apart your golf swing and then try to rebuild it piece by piece. Forget About It!
That approach is counter-productive, and usually just leads to a lifetime of experimentation and frustration.
I don’t believe the golf swing should be taught as a series of positions to be dissected and copied. It’s all connected in one continual — hopefully smooth — motion.
Stop-motion instruction is useful only in very small doses.
I believe every swing is a performance. A work of art, not a science project. And it’s different for everyone.
So I work with what you’ve got… your natural, semi-athletic swing. Everybody has one, it’s just a matter of letting it happen.
I help you make simple, fundamental adjustments that deliver big results… posture, set-up, balance, and tempo, so you can start hitting the sweet spot in no time.
Which means you’ll find more fairways, hit more greens, and post lower scores.
Golf mentor not golf instructor.
Instructors focus on specific methods and a set curriculum. They impart their knowledge, and hope it sticks.
Mentors take a more holistic, long-term approach based on shared experiences and genuine connection.
Golf is a game of a lifetime, so golf instruction should be too.
A mentor’s job is to give you the tools you need to become your own best teacher. I’m not teaching the swing, per se, I’m just helping you develop the self-awareness you need to find a workable golf swing based on what YOU already DO and FEEL. Not what some random pro is doing.

Better Golf Starts by Simplifying Your Game
Find the Swing That Works for You
Develop a clear feel for your golf swing—not somebody else’s. Learn to recognize what works, what doesn’t, and why.
Think Less. Play More Naturally.
Clear out unnecessary swing thoughts and technical clutter so you can react, trust your motion, and play more freely.
Master the Fundamentals
Get posture, set-up, grip, balance, and tempo working together so solid contact becomes easier and more repeatable.
Become Your Own Best Teacher
Build the self-awareness to diagnose your own game, make useful corrections, and stop depending on constant instruction.
Make Small Changes That Matter
Forget the swing overhaul. Make simple, targeted adjustments that can produce better shots without sending you down another rabbit hole.
Take It Straight to the Course
Learn practical habits and simple “hacks” you can use right away—so improvement shows up on the scorecard, not just on the range.

John S. Ford - Clubmaking, sweetspot finding, mind changing golf industry whistleblower.
John S. Ford learned the game of golf and the engineering of golf clubs when he was at MacGregor, back in the 1970’s and early 80s.
He learned by listening to the very best players of the era…
Jack Nicklaus needed the toe of his driver shaved off, just so.
Arnold Palmer wanted coat hanger wire wrapped under his grips so he big mitts would have something to hold onto.
The stories go on and on, involving Sam Snead, Johnny Miller, Moe Norman Dave Stockton and many other big name pros.
Because Ford also worked in the PGA tour trailers for a couple years, handling club fitting and repairs for any tour pro who came along.
He also learned the fickle nature of the golf industry — the hard way. Ford was involved in a half dozen well-funded golf club manufacturing companies, none of which are still in business.
And it wasn’t due to poor club design.

The infomercial the Golf Channel refused to air.
Ford invested everything.

In 2003 Ford decided to produce a hard-hitting, three-part expose on the golf industry practices that he’d seen throughout his career.
Juicy stuff, like golf ball testing that involved iced balls, non-existent quality control practices in shaft manufacturing and the propaganda machine in golf instruction.
The legal team at The Golf Channel didn’t like the title, “Ripped Off By Golf,” and the show never saw airtime.
But Ford’s contrarian approach lives on.
Give him a few minutes and he’ll show you exactly why that new $750 putter doesn’t work any better than a seven dollar garage sale putter.
He’ll prove to you that at least a few clubs in your bag are off spec, compared to the rest of your set.
He’ll explain the ramifications of a hole in your glove, and the golf practices that keep chiropractors in business.
But most of all, he’ll teach you to putt and to swing a club, in the most natural, effortless way possible.
He’ll save you strokes, and a lot of money on equipment that’s ill-suited to your needs.
